“GOTCHA!” PHANTOM CLOTHING. BACKSTAGE AT ANREALAGE SS 2012 TOKYO.

アンリアレイジ2012年春夏バックステージをレポート。騙し系ファントム服やないか！

ANREALAGE can become an addiction…their collections feed fashion fans like ADD-saddled kids at the candy store. This sugar comes in the form of freaky cool fabrics, hi-tech transformation techniques, and some deep concepts. With that said, it’s not going to make you contemplate your life over the construction of a chiffon blouse. Looking at these detail backstage shots from the ANREALAGE 2012 spring summer Tokyo show, it may come across as an art project, but the brand is straightforward in their understanding of their pieces as products, and you will see that when the clothes are presented on the racks.

Perhaps that is why the invitation for this show came as a plastic shell of a toy bag..something you’d find at the $.99 store. The collection was also titled “Shell” and it incorporated this idea into the clothing with hardened bodices and details like hardened wrinkles. There were also trenches and jackets with “phantom” pockets, belts, and buttons and “phantom” knitwear that is actually polyester satin
(!) (!) given an embossing technique. It seems like quite a simple collection (especially compared to last season’s mosaic- 8-bit pixel-looking collection) but it uses a lot of different materials… PVC, polyester, plastic, cotton, patchworking (their signature is patchwork…it ALWAYS makes an appearance)….

今回お伝えするのは、Anrealage。このブランドは、このブログでも何度も書かせて頂いているのだがそのことが物語るように、どうにもこうにも中毒性のあるブランドなのだ。ファッションフリークにとってAnrealageのコレクションは、さながら子供にとってのキャンディショップのようであり皆一様に子供の様に夢中になってしまう魅力に溢れている。ただしこのキャンディショップで置かれているのはキャンディではなく見たことの無いようなファブリックや、テクノロジーを駆使した縫製、そして高いコンセプト性のもとに作られる洋服達。これは今回の2012年春夏コレクションのバックステージスナップ。ぱっと見るとまるでアートプロジェクトのような感じがしなくもないが彼らの洋服はれっきとしたプロダクトとして捉えられていることがショップに陳列されているのを見るとよく分かる。

だから今回のコレクションのインビはおもちゃのプラパッケージの抜け殻だったから・・？このプラスチックの抜け殻こそが今回のショーのテーマ”Shell(抜け殻)なのだ”。そのテーマをもとに作られたのが、この印象的な固いボディに、皺をあえて付けられた　作品達。例えばトレンチコートは、３D(!)トロンプイユのポケットとベルトなどが付いている。そして驚くべきはニット。いや、ニットだと思ったあなた。見事に騙されましたね(笑　これは実は、ポリエステルサテンの生地にニットのようなエンボス加工を施したものなんです。Anrealageのコレクションといえば、前回の８ビットコレクションが余りに鮮烈だったのだがそれに比べると幾分かシンプルな今回のコレクションも、今までに使っていないマテリアル(PVC、ポリエステル、プラスティック、コットン、パッチワーク…パッチワークはいつも使われるけど。)を使った非常に実験的で面白い作品が出揃っていた。

It was a solemn, slow procession down the runway, accompanied with live music by Ippei Sugihara. The brand always uses this man for their runway music, and they recently released a CD with an archive of their runway songs. Hair/Makeup was done by genius Katsuya Kamo.

演出の面では、厳かな雰囲気のなか、ゆっくりとした足取りでキャットウォークをするモデル達に合わせて演奏されるスギハラ イッペイさんの音楽も 毎回のことながら印象的だった。(ちなみにスギハラさんは、毎回Anrealageのショーの為に楽曲製作をしており、最近ではその曲を集めたCDも発売された。)そしてこのフューチャリスティックなヘアメイクはカモ カツヤさんの手によって作り上げられた。

ピンク色の。プラ製。トゥーシューズ。フラッツはかないのは残念。

ANREALAGE’s designer Morinaga is a fan of experimenting with tech to use in his fabrics and this time he did some heavy-handed things like heating his pieces up to 400 degrees then freezing it then vacuuming it to suck the air out….voila! You have “phantom” pockets! This trench is actually completely devoid of actual buttons, pockets, lapel or a belt.

デザイナーの森永さんは、このAnrealageを通して実験的な洋服を作ることを重視していて 今回のこのコレクションでは、ファブリックを一度400℃まで加熱し、その後一気に冷却して最後に空気を抜いて真空状態にしたものを使っているそう。聞いただけで目眩がしそう…そうして出来上がったこのフェイクポケット付きのトレンチコート。その行程を聞いた後だと、余計にスゴく見えてくる。本当にポケット、ボタン、ッベルト、ラペルは付いてないんだ。ファントム服や。

As for these bodices, they were actually available for order, but for about 90,000yen (over $1.2k). I later had the opportunity to actually wear one at their store for a shoot…(!!) will post photos those later

このボディブラウスも実際に購入可能だそうで、そのお値段９万円也。ラッキーなことに、少し前の撮影で着用させて頂いたのだが、その様子はまた後日アップします！
